The reason is simple: 350 cubic inches of snarling small block V8. With an aluminum intake and a big 4-barrel carb, throttle response is instantaneous and if you’re not careful, you’ll turn those rear tires into expensive tire smoke without even trying. There’s a mild cam inside that gives it a bit of a lopey idle, and it’s nicely dressed with chrome valve covers and a matching air cleaner. It’s not radical, and you can see that it was built with driving in mind, as it has both power steering and power brakes that make it easy to handle. A throaty Flowmaster exhaust system sounds awesome with turn downs just after of the transmission. That transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic that shifts without hesitation the moment your foot hits the carpet and the 10-bolt rear end means that durability won’t be an issue. The chassis still looks great, showing a few signs of age use, but they’re easy to forgive when everything is in such good order. Black Rally wheels with trim rings and fat white-letter radials add to the sporty look and fill the fenders properly.
