Cruisin Classics is excited to present for your consideration this 1968 Chevrolet C-10! This truck sure isn’t your average C-10. It is the product of a 12-year frame-off restoration that was just completed in May 2022. We even have a book from the builder with photos, receipts, an appraisal, and a list of all expenditures. It looks great in photos, but it is even more breathtaking in person. The paints used are all from House Of Kolor and whoever sprayed it did a great job. The colors are glossy, deep, and evenly laid all over the straight body. While the truck was apart, the frame was stripped down, primed, and painted Champagne. According to the builder there are 37 different body modifications done during the build, most notably – vents with a chrome fin on the sides of the hood, extended front bumper side panels to the wheel openings, a grill center bar that includes the turn signals with flush lenses, shaved drip rails, shaved door handles, frenched antenna, and frenched tail and reverse lights. The bed wood is stained with Kandy Red paint and covered with 12 coats of clear urethane then sanded and buffed to an incredibly glossy shine. This C-10 has a great stance and is lowered 6′ in front and 5″ in the back with Chassis Tech lowering springs and spindles. The lowered stance is accentuated by a set of Riddler wheels wrapped in new Falken FK452 low-profile tires. When you lift the hood on this truck you’re sure to be impressed with the level of detail in the engine bay. The air cleaner, valve covers, intake, block, and brake booster are all painted to match the exterior. According to the truck’s builder, the 350ci V8 was rebuilt approximately 20K miles before the build and has 10.5:1 compression, a small cam, and a gear drive. He also stated that the 700R4 automatic transmission was rebuilt just before the truck was finished and has been less than 100 miles since. The transmission is mated to a 12-bolt rear to handle all the power you can throw at it. Atop the air-gap intake is a 600cfm Holley carburetor and a new distributor. At the front of the engine is a RAB chrome front-runner system with an AC compressor, alternator, and power steering pump. At the very front of the car sits a new Champion aluminum radiator with dual 14″ electric fans mounted to an aluminum fan shroud. The exhaust runs through headers to mufflers and out through rectangular chrome tips beneath the bed steps. Stopping power is supplied by power front disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors and drums on the rear. The cab’s interior features are a continuation of the same high level of quality custom build seen outside and under the hood. The extremely comfortable bucket seats are upholstered in white leather with red stitching that is also used on the door panels, kick panels, center console, and headliner. The custom-designed dash and center console are made entirely of metal with wood inserts. The wood inserts on the dash, console, and door armrests are red oak – to match the bed wood. On the dash, you’ll find Dakota electric gauges including a tach built into the speedometer and integrated turn signal indicators. Also in the dash is a Double Din Pioneer head unit with Bluetooth compatability connected to eight speakers powered by two amplifiers. The center console houses easy-to-use, well-labeled controls for heat and AC as well as other features. Also part of the center console is two cup holders, a pop-up compartment with hidden ignition, cut-off switch, antenna control, and amp booster, an armrest with storage compartment, and a decorative speaker cover plate from a mid-60s Impala that gives it a cool retro feel. The Billet Specialties steering wheel is dressed in white to match the interior and is attached to an Ididit tilt column. Both windows are electric, as is the E-brake. Doors open from the outside with key fobs and from the interior by simply pushing down on the lock buttons. The beige carpet and floor mats are new and free of stains and wear. This truck is an incredibly well-built custom ride that is sure to bring home plenty of trophies from car shows and get looks wherever it goes. It may sound cliche, but you couldn’t begin to build a truck of this quality for this price today.
