Ford’s 2.8-liter V6 has a long history of powering both trucks and cars, and so it makes for the right powerplant for a cruising classic pickup like this. It fires up readily, like a hardy motor should. Plus, you have newer components, like the alternator and A/C compressor. You even get a nice sound out of the dual exhaust. They wanted to make sure that this feels good on the road, and so you have an upgraded suspension with a Mustang II-style independent unit up front and trailing arms in the rear. Plus, there’s a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/discs up front. So this Model A is nice to enjoy near or far.
