A model-correct and very capable Chevy 283V8 connected to an upgraded 3 speed automatic transmission sits in the engine compartment in place of the original straight 6 and provides substantially more power than its predecessor. It’s dressed up by a set of chrome valve covers and chrome Weiand intake. The small-block exhales into a set of headers leading back to dual exhausts. In front sits a nice, large radiator ready to keep things cooled off, even if you find yourself in stop and go traffic. In a nod to comfort and convenience, this pickup is equipped with power steering and power brakes: disc in front and drum in back. Those carefully and creatively painted tan rims are wrapped in B.F. Goodrich Silvertown radial whitewalls that both look sharp and confer the appropriate vintage look.
