Factory Five 1935 Custom Hot Rod Truck
This top quality custom 2023 build started with a brand new Factory Five Racing custom tubular welded chassis and fiberglass body. Factory Five Is known as the undisputed leader in supplying quality components for custom hot rod build projects. This 1935 ford truck was built with meticulous attention to detail by Jeff Anderson of Cedar City Utah. Jeff has built many custom hot rods over his 35 year career with many of them winning best in show awards and this build was no different. The project was started in October of 2022 and finished in June of 2023. The heart of any Hot Rod build is the motor and no expense was spared in this area.
This brand new high performance balanced and blue printed Ford 347 stroker motor was built by Blue Print engines out of Kearney Nebraska and dyno tested at 400 hp and 390 of torque with a five year 50,000 mile warranty! It supplies plenty of go power to the 2250 pound truck. The motor is kept cool and happy with a brand new Griffin aluminum radiator and hi-flow electric fan. The exhaust note of the stainless-steel shorty headers and exhaust is amazing and if it doesn’t get your car guy juices flowing nothing will.
In our opinion any true hot rod has to be manually shifted so this engine was mated to a brand new heavy duty Tremec TKO 600 5 speed transmission which also comes with a factory warranty. A custom driveshaft pushes the power to Ford 8.8 inch posi-trac rear end with perfectly matched gearing. The entire driveline of this build is bullet proof, powerful and built to last. Stopping power is supplied by Willwood 4 wheel disc brakes. The steel wheels are wrapped in top of line Hoosier Pro Street tires.
Jeff has a discerning and uncanny ability to build a vehicle with unique, eye catching and show winning aesthetics and this custom build is no different. The fiberglass body was meticulously prepped. Next came the paint. The dark green color was custom mixed and we call it Vintage burnt olive. The process involved several coats of high quality paint then cut and polished to a mirror like finish. The first comment we here after the build was finished is WOW… THAT PAINT AND COLOR! The next is WOW… THAT SOUND! Experience and attention to detail is paramount and not all Factory Five builds are the same. For example, the grill shroud surround (a main focal point of a 35 Ford truck) was improved with custom fiberglass work to make sure it mated perfectly to the grill with seams and gap tolerances that would make Detroit proud. Lighting is provided by LED headlights with integrated DRLs and turn signals, and LED tail lights. The firewall, doors and hood bonnet were all fitted with additional custom weather stripping for a true factory finish look. A sound insulation kit was added to the interior along with a two-speed heater. A custom tilt steering column was installed along with power windows. The bed floor was coated with a special durable high-end epoxy in a unique black walnut color that matches the color ways of the rest of the truck perfectly. These small yet critical details of this build are too many to list but if you’re looking for and old school 35 truck built with all brand-new parts you found it.
