This 1935 Chevrolet pickup is a true hot rod, and it has the growl to go with it
Plus, it has been restored to include a powerful V8, an updated suspension, an A/C interior, and plenty of flair to make sure that this pre-war Chevy knows how to turn heads in modern times.
Colorado Red is a cool name for this paint, because after all, Colorado is also the name of Chevy’s new truck today. It’s almost like this one wants to really signal to the world how much of a restomod it really is. Of course, the gloss and depth of this color is what really gives it the true distinction. This respray happened in the late 1990s, but the modern Starfire clearcoat really has sealed in a hard shine that will make you swear it’s far younger. This pickup was built with a speedy look with desirable swoopy curves from the fiberglass fenders and running boards combo that also help to contain the modern 17-inch wheels. And the steel body was also upgraded for sleekness with the flush-mounted tailgate, shaved door handles, LED turn signals in the headlights, and a fuel filler now located on the floor of the smooth wood truck bed. And so as you look at this built in total, it’s certainly vintage but also upgraded from every angle.
When you pop the remote door openers, you’ll see more of the custom feeling continues inside. The seat is a bench that looks terrific in tan leather, and it has the kind of bolstering to feel like individual buckets. The tasteful tan and the bold red of the exterior expertly intertwin throughout the cab. We especially like how it’s combined on red carpeting with tan piping. Plus, this upgraded pickup gives you the right upgrades to keep you happy even over the long haul. They include modern cold blowing R134a air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows. The sports steering wheel feels great, and is mounted on a tilt column. And the wood dash panel frames the full set of Classic Instruments gauges.
There’s plenty to show off underneath the hood, and so you’ll be glad you can even remove the side panels to showcase it all. The 350 cubic-inch V8 has some nice polished upgrades. Plus, the red valve covers tidy plug wires, and smooth red firewall all give this a very well-coordinated look with the exterior. Plus, you’ll love that this V8 is built right with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake, and shorty headers. And it’s also supported by the right pieces, like upgraded pulleys, an HEI distributor, and an aluminum radiator with electric fan. This fires up eagerly, and the rather straight set of dual exhaust pipes make loud and throaty rumble. But don’t just listen to the pipes; look at their full journey in the undercarriage photos. There you’ll see how thorough the build is with Mustang II-style tubular A-arm front end. Add in great anytime features such as the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and you can see that this great-looking and great-sounding pickup is easy to drive anywhere.
