This 1929 Ford Model A pickup has V8 power, a strong Speedway frame, an upgraded suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and a leather-lined A/C interior
It makes for the steel-bodied classic with all the right custom cruiser flair.
This is a steel-body pickup, and so you’ll always appreciate it for the classic style. But the first impression this one makes is all about the upgrades. After all, Henry Ford never offered you a sleek copper metallic from the factory. It seems to add definition to all those classic lines as the light helps to highlight every purposeful crease on the steel. Even the fenders are metal, and we bet you love the look of how the extra larger rear ones cover those meaty rear tires. There are some fun details for those who pay extra attention. There are subtle hints of flames on the front fenders. The step plates are in a lightener shade of copper that coordinates well with the liner paint on the bed sides. And while this is an upgraded pickup, you still have great classic features like real wood, the windshield overhang, bright chrome double bumpers, on the bed floor, and the vinyl roof cover.
The interior continues the thoughtful custom style. The tan leather on the seats has detailed alligator-style texture inserts. This sets the theme that’s on the door panels and dash for a uniform total impression. It has a premium feel, and this is reinforced by features like power windows (the passenger side will need servicing) and an added air conditioning system. There are also the right useful features for everyday driving. You have a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, a tilt steering column, a tall Lokar shifter, and the dash is dominated by crisp Dolphin gauges.
The butterfly hood makes for an instant crowd pleaser, and within it is a fresh 350 cubic-inch V8. In fact, we’re told the odometer represents the mileage on this crate motor. It has the right power upgrades like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an air gap intake, and shorty headers feeding the dual exhaust. You’ll even notice good supporting components like an aluminum radiator and a Painless wiring kit. This pickup sits on a string Speedway Model A frame. There are also nice hot rod-style suspension components like a two-inch drop axle and hairpins up front, and the rear has a four-link setup and adjustable coilovers. A three-speed automatic transmission, a Camaro rear end, and four-wheel disc brakes complete a package that knows how to be a stout but easy cruiser.
This is the pickup with a distinct steel body style, V8 power, and cool upgrades.
